Here she is: Mary Lee Thorsby – my mother and my sons’ grandmother. So beautiful. I can’t describe how lucky we are that she’s in her home here in San Antonio, and my sister and I can take care of her every day. I know so many friends and colleagues who, due to Coronavirus concerns, can only see their parents through Facetime and closed windows. I know we’ll all be so relieved when this virus is behind us.

In the meantime, today is Mother’s Day – and it’s a gorgeous day in San Antonio. We’ve had a lovely fruit and chicken salad lunch outside. That lemon loaf on mom’s plate was made by Barb Tomlin of Smaistrla Title – thank you, Barb!

I’m wondering how you all are spending the day with your moms?

San Antonio has plenty of fun Coronavirus-safe things to do today. There’s a good list in San Antonio Magazine, including virtual wine and chocolate tastings, virtual paint night, self-care kits and the like. Or you can enjoy floating around the King William District, Confluance Park or Espada Park in boats rented from Mission Kayak. Or head to the San Antonio Zoo – but stay in your car! The zoo now offers a Drive Thru option where you can see most of the animals from the safe comfort of your vehicle – it’s like you’re on a safari!

In honor of our city’s 300th Anniversary, I’m making Mother’s Day No. 57 in my 300 Reasons to Love San Antonio list. Another great reason to live, work, invest in real estate and appreciate the specialness of San Antonio. Happy Mother’s Day, everyone!
