Great news! San Antonio home sales are bouncing back like crazy. We sold 3,823 homes in June, almost 1,000 more than we did in May. That’s an increase of 33 percent in just one month and 14 percent over June 2019 – the first time since January that we’ve seen a double digit increase.
In fact, let’s take a moment to compare where we are today with where we were at the beginning of the year:
As you can see, home prices have jumped significantly, more people are buying more expensive homes – and sales are happening more quickly.
Why the turnaround? Mortgage rates are at record lows. And we’re doing so much buying and selling virtually now. In fact, I recently sold a home to a lovely couple via photos, videos and phone calls. It’s a practice that’s becoming more common because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and also because a steady stream of people are still moving to San Antonio and realize that, due to demand, they need to start looking for homes before they even arrive.
Investors, too, are snapping up properties. It didn’t take long to sell my listing at 2511 N. Flores in Alta Vista. This fixer-upper will be beautiful once again, with happy new renters and a nice income stream for its owner. Do you have a property in need of some TLC that you’d like to sell? Let’s connect!
San Antonio real estate continues to thrive even during these uncertain times. If you’re thinking of buying or selling a home, there’s no need to let the pandemic stop you. Let’s get going! I’m here to support your success.
Your Neighborhood Expert,
PS: I have a new listing at 908 Tuxedo Ave., in the lovely Alamo Heights neighborhood. I’d love to show it to you!
