Location plays a huge factor in choosing a home. It may seem like finding the neighborhood you want to live in is the simple part, but after factoring in cost, commute time and your must-have list, it may be harder than it seems.
Here are five items we need to consider as we search for your perfect neighborhood:
1. Property Taxes
Property taxes can play a big role in the affordability of a home. I can research how much property taxes typically run in the areas you’re interested in. That way, you’ll know what you can expect your property taxes to be, depending on the property you choose.
2. School Districts
Whether or not you have kids, knowing how the school systems in your area are rated can be important factors in home value and re-sale potential. I’ve got helpful information on the school districts throughout our area so you can see how they stack up
3. Crime and Safety
Before closing the deal on your next home, we’ll check out the safety level in the area. It’s important to remember that crime happens everywhere, but you have to determine the level of crime you are comfortable being around.
4. Area Amenities
Do you want to live near a park or close to nightlife? Choosing the right neighborhood is crucial to the type of lifestyle you want to lead. Determining the type of amenities you want to live nearby can help you choose what neighborhood may be right for you.
When picking your next home be sure to consider the geography of an area. Is it in a flood plain? Are you located near danger prone areas? These are important questions to ask when determining if a home is right for you. In some instances you may need specialized homeowners insurance based on the home’s location. I can help you research these items to ensure that when you’re ready to buy, you can buy with confidence.
